Day 18: Let Him

Jeremiah 8:8-9:26

Colossians 3:1-17

Psalm 78:32-55

Proverbs 24:27

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts"

"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly" (Col. 3:15-16)

"the Lord brought His people out like a flock, He led them like sheep through the wilderness" (Ps. 78:52)

Surrender. In all of the sermons, Bible passages, worship songs....that I've heard in my life, is this not the main "task" before us?

I could probably list a lot of "to do's" I've heard in my life but ultimately I think this is what summarizes it. There are a lot "to do's" that seem to come along with following Jesus, but this is all we have to do, surrender. Surrender. Let Him be God.

If I let the peace of Christ rule in my heart??

If I let the message of Christ dwell richly in me?

If I let Him lead me?

If I surrender?

When I have a thought to worry, to try and figure things out, to complain, to be angry, to be frustrated, etc...if I just let Him be God, let myself believe He is good and here always always always... how much simpler would my life become?

It is a task for certain. To surrender would mean to daily over and over again drop whatever worries and concerns that are moment by moment being thrown my way tempting me to pick them up. It is a task. But it is a task to stop and just let Him be God and how wonderful and liberating and light is that load?
