"My heart, O God, is steadfast; I will wing and make music with all my soul. Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies" (Psalm 108:1-4)
This morning I decided to wake up a little early to read and have a very nutritious breakfast of coffee and cookies before going to work at 9. And I'm going to be honest here, I decided to skip the Ezekiel reading and go back to that tonight. Because I wasn't exactly ready this morning to read about swords and all that.
I wanted to read this morning though because for the past few days I've been procrastinating and not reading till the end of the day. And by that time every day I already have way too much on my mind to focus, so I wanted to read this morning when I was fresher and more ready to be shaped by what I read.
"By one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy" (Hebrews 10:14).
So awesome. This is a truth to cling to for today: when I find myself trying to be a perfectionist, trying to be perfect all on my own. Jesus has got me covered. Really, really.
Gratitude: for the grace of God that I do not have to try and perfect...I can make mistakes and He has got me.
