Day 93: Come. On.

December 22, 2017

Zechariah 1:1-21

Revelation 12:1-17

Psalm 140:1-13

Proverbs 30:17

I'm intrigued by this name for Satan in Revelation 12, "the accuser of our brothers and sisters." He "accuses them before our God day and night."

It seems strange that God would be calling him an accuser, when hasn't God accused us of a lot too? Thus far in this project I've read A LOT of God's accusations.... He's been very frank about the wrongs we have done and therefore the punishment we deserve.

But I guess all that is simply there to point to the truth of who God is, that we owe Him our worship, and to point us to the saving work of Jesus Christ. Because we know that we can't get up from under these accusations unless we have Jesus.

And Jesus died and paid for our sins and clothed us in righteousness. We are washed white as snow and we can no longer be condemned...we cannot be accused.

Satan accuses us still though. We have been saved by the blood of the Lamb and he has the gall to accuse us still.

But not for long.

"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down."

COME. ON.

I'm sure my little interpretation only skims the surface of the depth and magnitude of this real life future story.

I'm sure I have no idea truly what I'm getting myself into but: come. on.

This, whatever this is, has got to be everything I've always been waiting for. Of all the things I could be waiting for right now: a career, a place of my own, a boyfriend, etc, etc...I would never get to stop waiting until this, whatever this is, happens, because this. is. it. I'm waiting for "the salvation and the power and the kingdom of God."

Come Lord Jesus Come

We ask You Jesus to come because we need You and because we know You will come just as You did before, just as we asked You to before.

Faithful Jesus.

May we be ready for You.
