Psalm 84

Joshua 11:1-12:24

Luke 17:11-37

Psalm 84:1-12

Proverbs 13:5-6

How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty!

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD;

my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young--

a place near Your altar--LORD Almighty, my King and my God.

Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You.

Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage...

Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere;

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

LORD Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in You.

Psalm 84

I can only imagine what it will be like

When I walk, by your side

I can only imagine what my eyes will see

When you face is before me

I can only imagine

Surrounded by You glory

What will my heart feel

Will I dance for you Jesus

Or in awe of You be still

Will I stand in your presence

Or to my knees will I fall

Will I sing hallelujah

Will I be able to speak at all

I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes

When I find myself standing in the Son

I can only imagine when all I would do is forever

Forever worship You

I Can Only Imagine by Bart Millard

During my year of reading the Bible every day there have been times I wanted to pick up fiction to read. I decided after I graduated college I wanted to read for fun more but I didn't want to read anything that wasn't about Jesus because I get enough of that from TV and every other form of entertainment. So I picked up Francine Rivers, I started reading "Imagine Heaven" by John Burke...etc. But during this year of reading the Bible I haven't read anything else because I wanted to reserve what little reading energy I had at the end of a long work day for the Bible.

But this week I did read Bart Millard's book "I can only Imagine." And tonight I went to see the new movie in the theatre.

It has left me feeling renewed in 2 ways.

I feel renewed in my belief that God can use me, He can use my gifts and talents. I can pursue my passions and dreams because God has given them to me to use for His glory.

And I feel renewed in my hope and joy in a future of Heaven. My hope and joy that Jesus is here now and He's only going to grow closer.

He is better than anything on this earth.

"Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere."
