Day 27: Grace for Exiles
Jeremiah 28:1-29:32
1 Timothy 1:1-20
Psalm 86:1-17
Proverbs 25:17
Okay, 27 days of this and I finally forgot! I lay down to sleep and at midnight my eyes shot open "I forgot to read! I forgot to blog!"
As it is now past midnight I will admit that I read today's reading rather quickly and so this post will be very short.
God's grace. This is the message I picked up on tonight in the reading and it's also the message I probably need to hear as I was not as productive (blogging and otherwise) as I would have liked to be today.
But man, God has plans for our lives still! Even with all the time we waste, even with all the mistakes, and all the times we forget His Word.
Jeremiah 29:11 is the classically constantly quoted verse: "I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord." And it is right smack in the middle of God talking to the Israelites about how they have been EXILED and they are going to be there in Babylon for a long time.
The Israelites do not deserve to hear anything good like that from God. But God is gracious and He promises good things to them. And He is faithful to His promises.
Good night
